The tumbling and polishing procedure used to produce the FireglassTM ensures that there are no sharp edges to cut you and almost anyone can install it. Merely remove those old gas logs and clean out your fireplace. Wipe the surfaces clean with a dry cloth to eliminate any dust. Check your burner to make sure it is in proper working order or you can purchase our H-Burner or Fire pit ring and you're ready to fill.

The choices are endless! A typical fireplace will take between 50 and 75 lbs of glass. Using our Fire Rock as filler, you can cut back on the amount of glass required and give you the same look. However, if you want to adjust the color for a party or on holidays, an all-glass installation is best. Fireplace Formula:

Take the front and back width of your fireplace and add them together _______

Then, divide that number by 2. _______

Now multiply that number by the depth of the fireplace. _______

Then, multiply that number by the depth of the Fire Glass you would like. _______

Divide that number by 231. _______

Multiply the number by 12 to get the total pounds of Fire Glass needed.


Fire Pit Formula:

Take the diameter of the fire pit and multiply it by itself. _______

Multiply by the depth of the glass you would like. _______

Divide by 231. _______

Multiply by .8 _______

Multiply by 12 to get total. _______

Fireplace:

A 30" fireplace generally requires 40lbs. of Fire Glass, based on an avg. depth of 2".

Fire Pit:

A 30" fire pit generally requires 75 lbs. of Fire Glass based on an avg. depth of 2".
