As a pub owner, patio heaters are vital all year round. No matter what the weather, I need something outside to keep people warm. You make wonder why people are outside during the cold winter months, but people smoke. And since we don’t want them inside, the least we could do is help them when they stand outside.

There are a lot of choices for patio heaters and our first purchase was a black steel wall mounted infrared. These are simple to use and plug into the household electricity circuits. It can be used both indoors and outside and covers a wide range. We still needed more though, as most people will huddle underneath the patio heaters and stop their efficiency.

Despite the steel mounted heaters being great, we wanted something that could handle more people standing near-by. So we looked at the free standing hammer tome bronze halogen patio heater. These look like lampposts and are great for wide areas. They too run on an electric current and are far less expensive than the propane heaters. They look good, work well and can be moved around with more ease than a wall mounted device.

The last of the three we bought was more for when it rained. The umbrella halogen patio heater fits nicely on an inside cover, but is still used outside. When it rains people need a warm place to stand and this offers that luxury. With all three set in place our outside section of the pub is now complete.
