Fire Pit Covers: Kinds and Selections
When our friends Fred and Sal stayed with us for a weekend, we spent a lot of time out on our back deck. Fred and my husband Tony would cook with the fire pit and Sal and I would get caught up with our chatting. The first night when we were through with the fire, Fred asked where the fire pit cover was. Tony told him that we didn’t have one and that he didn’t know there was such a thing.
The next morning the four of us went to a home and garden store to look for fire pit covers. I was surprised that there were all different types of covers as well as colors. Of course Tony didn’t care about what the color was, he just wanted to make sure it was a cover that would fit our pit. The guys had measured the pit so we knew exactly what to look for.
When we found the selection that was the right size, we decided to get a metal cover that had vents. I was thrilled to see the great choices of colors: bright red, black, green and brown. Tony would’ve chosen the black because he thinks that’s a neutral color. I chose the green cover since all of my flower pots are green and the trim on the deck is green. Who knew looking at fire pit covers would cause me to want to coordinate colors!
It’s nice having the fire pit cover, especially when it rains hard. And of course the green matches the flower pots just fine.
