Grill covers, why do you need them? When I buy appliances, I often go by a “survival of the fittest” policy—if it can’t survive on its own, then it’s not worth having. This is also probably why I buy new appliances so often; I don’t take care of them. Grill covers can range in price, but they are worth their weight in gold for what they can do for your Outdoor Grill.
- Protects Your Grill from Harsh Weather-Especially if you have an iron alloy grill, this can save you a lot of woe! Grills of course come with a finish which make them weather resistant and water resistant, but constant exposure to elements can be damaging. And for iron based grills, this means rust! This is not good, especially when you’re cooking food. A good grill cover will fit snugly over your grill preventing water from seeping in and keeping it protected.
- Keeps Your Grill Clean-Another huge plus, especially for those who hate cleaning. A grill cover will keep out dust or dirt or even critters that might get into your grill. When I want to grill, I want to grill right away. I don’t want to take the time to wipe off the lid or cooking grids before I can get to grill my beer brats. It’s just a hassle. With a grill cover, you take it off and Ta-da! You’re free to grill!
- Provides Safe Storage-Along with the “clean” theme, this also means it’s safe to keep your tongs, forks, thermometer, grill brush, basting brush, even wallet with your grill. Okay, maybe not your wallet, but everything else will stay protected and clean with your grill. This is a huge relief for me, because by the time spring comes around, I’ve misplaced all of my grilling utensils. This way, they can all be in one place when you want to start your grilling marathon.
Grill covers prolong the life of your grill and are very convenient. They’ve helped my grill “survive” so long, even though I leave it outside for most of the winter months. A great way to save your grill!
