The Basic Fire Pit Accessories
If you enjoy spending time outside together with your friends and family then you must consider buying an outdoor fire pit for the colder days of the year. I personally love reading my newspaper with a coffee outside on summer mornings, and looking at the sky while resting on the couch in the evenings. This is not possible to do during the winter if you do not have some kind of heating outside. That is why I have a small fire pit in my backyard.
To be able to enjoy your fire pit to the fullest, you should complement it with the right fire pit accessories, and some of the most basic include:
Fire Pit Cover. Having a proper fire pit cover is listed among the basic fire pit care instructions. It provides protection for the fire pit from the changing weather conditions outside that can damage its functionality. The fire pit cover is especially necessary if the fire pit is not portable, like the stone fire pit for example, since you cannot move it in a garage, or somewhere else where it can be protected. Spark Screen. A spark screen is a fire pit accessory that protects the fire pit environment from the strayed sparkles that can easily ignite a falling branch from a tree, or some other object around it. Today’s modern fire pits have spark screens that can easily be opened from one side to better approach the fire pit when adding more wood logs.
Caddy. Wood logs can easily be carried around and stored into caddies. They also are one of the important basic fire pit accessories. Caddies come in various designs, sizes and production materials so that everyone can find the one that best suits his needs.
Tool Set. The tool set consists of four basic tools that you should have near the fire pit:
- A poker to help you move the wood to better position it so that you can maintain control over the fire;
- A shovel to collect and remove the ash;
- A pair of tongs to help you move a piece of wood from one place to another; and
- A broom to sweep away the remained bits of ash.
If you properly take care of your fire pit, and use these basic fire pit accessories you will be able to enjoy its beauty and functionality for many years.
