The flexible Fire Resistant Chiminea Outdoor Fireplace Pad, allows you to roll it up for easy storage and transportation. Designed to protect the deck or patio from stray embers or ash. The Blue Rooster Company Chiminea Pad is made from heavy woven fiberglass with a durable latex backing. Created specifically for use with our popular large cast aluminum outdoor fireplaces. This fire resistant pad will keep your wood or deck area looking new and is easily moved for quick furniture arrangement.

Designed as protection from a stray ember or ash from a wood burning fireplace, the fire resistant pad is not fireproof. It will protect your deck area from a ember or burning log until it can be placed back in the fire. It will not protect your deck from direct heat or intense direct fire. Think of it as a fire suit for your deck. A fire suit will protect you from sparks and flame but does not help in a 1200 degree oven for extended periods... Not recommended for wood burning firepits, cast iron chimineas, short chimineas such as the Garden or Pine.

If you are using any other fireplace then a Blue Rooster Company large cast aluminum chiminea or any cast aluminum chiminea we recommend putting a patio block or tile under your outdoor fireplace. The patio block or tile should be thick enough to insulate the pad from continuous heat.

This adds excitement to any fire! All fireglass has a 5 -lb. minimum order (Pricing below is per pound of fireplace glass). You can mix and match colors. This fire glass is tempered for long-term heat consumption. Thanks to the process used in creating the glass, it burns cleaner and more efficiently than conventional gas logs. It will not melt, degrade, or emit toxic fumes. (This refers to the glass itself. You are still required to have your damper open when burning!) The fireglass will last virtually a lifetime.

There is no soot, no ash and no smoke. With no popping embers to worry about, you can even remove those screens and glass doors that hinder your view. Then watch the colors dance! Now if you think this looks good in your fireplace, it is a show-stopper in an outdoor fire pit or as a decorative feature in your patio landscape.

The tumbling and polishing process used to create the FireglassTM ensures that there are no sharp edges to cut you and almost anyone can install it. Simply remove those old gas logs and clean out your gas or propane fireplace. Wipe the surfaces clean with a dry cloth to remove any dust. Check your burner to make sure it is in proper working order or you can purchase our H-Burner or fire pit ring and you're ready to fill.

The options are endless! An average fireplace will take between 50 and 75 lbs of glass. Using our Fire Rock as a filler can cut down on the amount of glass needed and give you the same look. However, if you want to change the color for a party or on holidays, an all-glass installation is best. Fireplace Formula:

Take the front and back width of your fireplace and add them together _______

Then, divide that number by 2. _______

Now multiply that number by the depth of the fireplace. _______

Then, multiply that number by the depth of the Fire Glass you would like. _______

Divide that number by 231. _______

Multiply the number by 12 to get the total pounds of Fire Glass needed.


Fire Pit Formula:

Take the diameter of the fire pit and multiply it by itself. _______

Multiply by the depth of the glass you would like. _______

Divide by 231. _______

Multiply by .8 _______

Multiply by 12 to get total. _______
